How To Make The Tiktok Pasta

Confirmed: The Baked Feta Pasta That’s Blowing Up On TikTok Is Worth The Hype

This is the story of another another viral TikTok craze that I somewhat wanted to despise but couldn’t quite bring myself to do so. but they didn’t. It’s not that I didn’t believe the concept was enticing in the first place. It’s just that everything felt a little too straightforward. It goes without saying that cooking a block of feta with bursting tomatoes would be delicious. Is it, however, good enough to bring down the internet? Yes, I must admit, is my reluctant response. It’s a stroke of genius.

My ideas are summarized here.

  1. There is no need to adjust the temperature of the oven. The original recipe asks for baking the feta and tomatoes at 400° for 30 minutes, then turning the heat up to 500° for the last 10 minutes. With only 30 minutes in the oven, my feta was well on its way to becoming a lovely shade of golden brown on top. I believe it is important to maintain the temperature constant in order to avoid scorching additives like as garlic and herbs (see my next comment)
  2. You may explore with other ingredients than simply tomatoes and feta. Sliced shallots will become sweet and jammy, and smashed garlic will infuse the olive oil with a rich flavor. Do you like spice? Add a generous amount of crushed red pepper flakes. Do you have thyme? Add a couple of sprigs of thyme for an earthy flavor
  3. Pasta water can be added to aid. A spoonful of pasta water will aid in the stretching of your sauce, allowing it to cover your pasta more smoothly and generously
  4. And

Have you attempted to make this recipe? Please share your thoughts in the comments box below. Note from the editors: On February 9, 2021, we raised the amount of tomatoes used in this dish. One pint of sauce is sufficient, but two pints is advised for a richer, more delicious result. Yields: 3 to 4 lbs. Time allotted: 0 hours 45mins Cherry or grape tomatoes (2 pts.) 1 haloumi, cut into quarters 3 garlic cloves, peeled and crushed (optional) split half a cup of extra virgin olive oil Kosher salt and red pepper flakes (crushed) 1 (8-ounce) block of feta cheese three sprigs of thyme 10oz.pasta 1 lemon’s zest (optional) (optional)

  1. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees. In a large ovenproof skillet or medium baking dish, mix the tomatoes, shallot, garlic, and the majority of the olive oil and cook until the tomatoes are soft. Season with salt and red pepper flakes, tossing well to coat the vegetables
  2. Place the feta in the middle of the tomato mixture and sprinkle the remaining olive oil over the top. Tomatoes should be strewn with thyme. Bake for 40 to 45 minutes, or until the tomatoes are bursting and the feta is golden brown on top, depending on your oven. Meanwhile, cook the pasta according to the package directions in a large pot of salted boiling water until al dente. Before draining the pasta, set aside 12 cup of the cooking water. After adding the cooked pasta and the saved pasta water (if using), mix everything together until everything is well-combined in the skillet with the tomatoes and feta. Before serving, garnish with basil leaves.

Baked Feta Pasta – Tik Tok Pasta

The ever-popular TikTokBaked Feta Pasta is here to stay! Roasted tomatoes, creamy and subtly acidic baked feta cheese, al dente pasta, and fresh herbs come together to create a rich and filling meal. One of the simplest and most delicious meals you’ll ever make!

Viral TikTok Baked Feta Pasta

My brother has been raving about baked feta pasta for a long time, and I’ve finally gotten around to preparing it after hearing him say it was great. This is a trend that I will definitely get behind, despite the fact that I am not very fashionable (and do not even have a TikTok account). I should not have waited so long before giving it a go. Everybody else seems to be infatuated with it, and I am no exception! Because of its growing popularity, feta is no longer in low supply, which means you shouldn’t have to worry about running out of the cheese anytime soon.

The Short History of Baked Feta Pasta

A recipe for feta pasta was first shared on Tiiu Piret’s blog in 2018, and it gained widespread attention a year later when Jenni Hayrinen posted her simplified version of “uunifetapasta” (Finnish for “oven-baked feta pasta”) on Tiktok (andher blog). This version of mine is based on the same concept as the original, with a few tweaks that I personally enjoy, such as a generous quantity of roasted garlic, fresh spinach, and additional herbs.

I also enjoy a medium bite-size pasta dish in this setting. The fact that something so simple can taste so incredibly great is quite astonishing. If you have just one bite, you’ll be addicted. Ingredients for TikTok Baked Feta Pasta Recipe TikTok

  • 2 pints (20 oz) grape tomatoes
  • 1/2 cup extra-virgin olive oil
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper
  • 7 oz. block feta cheese (sheep’s milk kind), drained
  • 2 pints (20 oz) grape tomatoes
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper To make this dish, you’ll need: 10 ounces dry pasta (bite size)
  • 5 medium garlic cloves, peeled and halved
  • 8 ounces spinach, coarsely chopped
  • 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes, or more to your liking
  • Fresh basil (quarter cup thinly cut)
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley

How to Make Baked Feta Pasta

  1. 400 degrees Fahrenheit is the temperature in the oven. In a baking dish, combine the feta, tomatoes, and oil: In a 3-quart baking dish, combine the grape tomatoes and garlic. Toss with a little olive oil and a sprinkle or two of salt. Using your hands, gently press feta into the middle of the tomatoes, coating it with oil. Preheat the oven to 375°F and bake for 30 minutes in the middle. Then remove the baking dish and adjust the oven rack so that it is in the upper third of the oven. Return the baking dish to the oven and raise the temperature to 450 degrees. Allow about 10 minutes more baking time or until the tomatoes and cheese are beginning to brown slightly. Prepare the pasta: Meanwhile, cook the pasta until al dente in salted water (I use 1 tablespoon salt and around 3 or 4 quarts of water), following the directions on the packet of pasta. Save a little pasta water and use it to boil spinach: Reserve 1/2 cup pasta water, and just before draining, pour and immerse spinach in the spaghetti water to finish cooking it (it should wilt almost instantly). Remove the spaghetti and spinach from the pot. Combine the feta mixture: With the back of a wooden spoon, mash the tomatoes, garlic, oil, and feta together until well combined. Toss in the pasta and herbs: Combine the spaghetti with the mixture, along with the basil, parsley, and red pepper flakes
  2. Toss to combine. thinning and seasoning: Reduce the consistency of the combination by adding a few spoonful of pasta water at a time until it reaches the appropriate consistency. Taste and season with salt and pepper to your liking. Serve when still heated.

Variations

  • Make use of the pasta you have on hand. Pasta such as campanelle, rigatoni, cavatappi, rotini, penne, bow tie or cavatappi are excellent choices
  • Include a protein source. Towards the end, you may add some cooked meat (chicken breasts, ground beef, or ground turkey would all be fine choices)
  • Try substituting another vegetable for the spinach. Cooking times can vary depending on the vegetables you choose. Some good alternatives are asparagus, broccoli, frozen artichoke hearts, and zucchini. If you’re attempting to cut back on carbohydrates, consider using zucchini noodles or spaghetti squash instead of regular noodles.

Helpful TikTok Pasta Tips

  • My personal favorite feta to use in this recipe is the Murray’s brand, which can be found in most grocery stores. It’s expensive (I pay $10 each block), but it’s well worth it. It has a wonderful taste and melts more smoothly than crumbled feta
  • Do not use crumbled feta! In this dish, block feta cheese is the only way to go. You don’t want any of that powdery covering on the block, and the whole thing will stand up much better during roasting. Also avoid low-fat feta, which will not melt as well and will not taste as wonderful as regular feta. Don’t scrimp on the extra virgin olive oil. This is critical since we want a thick sauce and not dry pasta
  • Don’t be shy with the tomato sauce. A lot of fresh taste and a mild sweetness are brought to this dish to balance out the sharpness. Make use of two boxes rather than simply one
  • Cook pasta until it is about al dente to achieve the nicest texture. When the pasta is stirred with the heated sauce, it will soak it up and become a little softer. Make an effort to finish the pasta at the same time that the feta and tomatoes will be finished in the oven. This is done to ensure that the pasta is warm when it is added and that it does not just sit and cling together.

Storing Leftovers

If you are finicky about the texture of your pasta, I recommend serving it the same day it is cooked because the noodles will soften as it waits overnight in the refrigerator (as with just any pasta coated in sauce). However, the flavor is still excellent, so I save any leftovers if we have some. Refrigeration:Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to three days. Freezing: It may be kept frozen for up to 2 months at room temperature.

TikTok’s viral baked feta pasta is worth the hype

My immediate reaction to viral culinary moments ranges from extreme skepticism (such as the tortilla “hack”) to outright disgust (such as the ketchup “hack”) (mermaid toast). Baked feta pasta, the newest social media craze to hit the airways, is an oddity in that I was a believer from the beginning. It’s a simple dish for spaghetti with tomatoes and cheese that everyone will like — what’s not to like? Tiiu Piret published a version of the recipe on her blog in February 2018, but it is Jenni Hayrinen, a fellow Finnish blogger, who is credited with making uunifetapasta (Finnish for “oven-baked feta pasta”) popular in her nation after sharing her simpler version a year later.

Smith’s single video has received approximately 3 million views, and the hashtag #bakedfetapasta has had a total of 52 million views and counting on TikTok as of this writing.

There are just minimal variances in taste depending on the recipe you choose to use.

Other variations include the garlic (which may either be roasted in big chunks with the rest of the sauce ingredients or minced and added fresh at the end) and basil (which can either be roasted in large chunks with the rest of the sauce ingredients or minced and added fresh at the end) (stirred into the hot pasta and allowed to wilt or carefully placed on top of the pasta just before serving).

Given the time of year, the use of tomatoes in this meal was the only element of the recipe that caused me pause at first.

(And it is only now that I realize that I used grape tomatoes instead of the cherry tomatoes that were called for while testing this recipe.) However, some people believe that cherry tomatoes are sweeter and more juicy when compared to the more common grape tomatoes; however, I don’t believe this is true, especially when comparing one out of season mass-produced type to another.) Some opponents of the dish can’t get beyond the sauce’s apparent grittiness and brokenness, which they believe is the result of the cooking process.

However, using the appropriate cheese (Greek feta cheese, which is manufactured from at least 70% sheep’s milk and has a creamier texture than feta-style cheese made from cow’s milk) and adding some of the pasta water at the end to help bind it all together solves this problem.

Make no excuses for social media users who fail to provide all of the information in a single TikTok video because they cannot — or do not want to — do so due to the limitations of the medium.

How nice is it?

According to her, “It’s so simple that even my 10-year-old nephew could do it.” “It’s something I’ll definitely make again.” Notes on storage: Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.

IngredientsSubstitutions

Recipe card with accurate measurements (scroll down to the bottom for the printable recipe card!)

  • Pasta may be made in any form you like! Bow ties and orzo are two of my favorite foods. Feta- for the greatest results, use a block of feta cheese. Crumbled feta works as well, although it doesn’t melt as elegantly as whole feta. Cherry tomatoes are the finest choice, although grape tomatoes are also acceptable. What’s even nicer is that they’re somewhat wilted and aged. They enhance the sweetness of the meal. Fresh garlic is very recommended, in my opinion. not the pre-chopped, processed sort that you can buy at the grocery store
  • Basil- fresh basil is preferred, but you may also use rosemary or thyme if you don’t have any on hand. Salt- Kosher salt is the finest choice for this dish, however pink Himalayan salt might also be used. Chili Powder- the original recipe calls for chiles, but I substituted red pepper flakes instead because I usually have these on hand
  • Olive Oil- Any type of olive oil will suffice! Just make sure you don’t scrimp on the olive oil
  • You want the tomatoes to be swimming in it.

How to make the Feta with Tomatoes

Baked feta is one of my all-time favorite recipes to prepare! I used to make this pasta as an appetizer, along with crusty bread and crackers, before I started eating it regularly. Now that I’ve gotten my hands on some spaghetti, forget about it! This is the only thing I’m going to do from now on! The nice part is that the technique remains the same! At begin, preheat your oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit. Then, in a baking dish, combine the cherry tomatoes with the olive oil, salt, and pepper.

  1. Once everything is baked for 30 minutes, heat the oven to 450 degrees and bake for another 5-10 minutes, or until the feta is golden and the tomatoes have burst, until everything is done.
  2. Remove the baking dish from the oven and toss in the garlic and basil until well combined.
  3. This is also the time of year when your entire kitchen will begin to smell delicious!
  4. It’s time to serve the meal if the sauce is properly creamy.
  5. That’s all there is to it!

Tips and Tricks

It’s one of my favorite recipes to make with baked feta! This spaghetti was originally prepared as an appetizer, along with crusty bread and crackers, before I became a regular at the restaurant. So, now that I’ve gotten my hands on some spaghetti, f*ck with it! Starting now, this is the only way I’m going to do business! Best of all, the approach is virtually same. Preheat your oven at 400 degrees Fahrenheit to begin. Next, in a baking dish, combine cherry tomatoes, olive oil, salt, and pepper.

Once everything is baked for 30 minutes, heat the oven to 450 degrees and bake for another 5-10 minutes, or until the feta is golden and the tomatoes have burst, until everything is done.

Remove the baking dish from the oven and toss in the minced garlic and basil until well-coordinated.

This is also the time of year when your entire kitchen will begin to smell like paradise!

It’s time to serve the meal when the sauce is absolutely creamy! If the sauce appears to be a bit dry, add 14 cup of pasta water and whisk it around – this will help loosen the sauce and make it silkier. Yes, that is all there is to it. You may start cooking now!

This tiktok pasta is actually awesome

Everything about this recipe is quite simple: cherry tomatoes are coated with olive oil and baked in a baking dish with a block of feta cheese. What is baked feta pasta?

Baked feta spaghetti is a pasta meal that is now becoming popular on TikTok due to the fact that it is really simple to make, delicious, and it looks appealing to the eye. It’s inspired by a traditional Greek dish known as baked feta. Jenni Häyrinen, a Finnish blogger, was the first to introduce the idea of pairing baked feta with spaghetti, which later became popular.

She referred to it as uunifetapasta, which means baked feta pasta. As evidenced by the fact that a few of other bloggers have also written about feta spaghetti, it appears to be quite popular in Finland. Apparently, it’s become so popular that it’s becoming impossible to find feta!

How to make baked feta pasta

  1. Toss: Place cherry tomatoes in a baking tray and drizzle with olive oil. Place a block of feta in the center of the plate and sprinkle some olive oil over it
  2. Bake: Oven-bake the tomatoes and feta cheese until the tomatoes have burst and the cheese has melted
  3. Cook: Prepare the spaghetti while the feta is baking in the oven. Stir in some minced garlic, some crushed red pepper flakes, and the pasta when the tomatoes and feta are through cooking. If necessary, add a little pasta water to loosen the sauce if necessary. Finish with a sprig of basil. Eat:all That’s there is to it! Scoop it up and sink your teeth into a bowl of pure cheesy carbohydrate bliss

Baked feta ingredients

  • Cherry tomatoes are delicious, and the sweeter the better! Currently, there are several varieties of small tomatoes available, including strawberry, grape, on-the-vine, and even heritage varieties. My cherry tomatoes were a mix of conventional cherry tomatoes and cherries on the vine
  • Feta–you’ll want to acquire a great better grade Greek feta for this meal because it’s the major flavoring component of the dish. Take a block of feta, not the crumbles, and soak it in a brine for about 30 minutes. If you like a gentler, creamier feta, French feta is a good choice
  • It’s less acidic than Greek feta. I’ve heard recipes that call for anywhere from 1/4 to 1/2 cup of olive oil, which is about the amount I’d use. I used a third cup because you want just enough oil to cover the tomatoes and feta while allowing a little pool of oil to form at the bottom of the baking dish so that the tomatoes basically become tomato confit. Using too little olive oil could result in your tomatoes being shriveled. Use whichever form of pasta you choose
  • We used casarecce the first time and rotini the second time and both were delicious
  • A few minced garlic cloves are tossed in, and the residual heat from the tomatoes helps to temper the harshness of the garlic while still providing a massive blast of garlicky flavor
  • Fresh basil– fresh basil and tomatoes are a fantastic marriage. Slice some up to add to the sauce, and leave some extra leaves whole to serve as decoration.

Tomato season

This summer, when tomatoes are in season, is the best time to prepare Tiktok baked feta pasta. In season sweet tomatoes may be found in plenty right now, and they will all contribute to this comforting classic by providing a lovely in-season change of pace. No matter how much you dislike tomatoes, tomatoes in the summer have a distinct flavor of their own. So give them a shot!

Tomatoes taste better in the summer, try these:

  • Roma tomatoes, grape tomatoes, beefsteak tomatoes, cocktail tomatoes, and heirloom tomatoes are all varieties of tomatoes.

No tomatoes please

Instead of using tomatoes, try these baked feta pastas that don’t include any tomato sauce.

  • Substitute 1-2 zucchinis and 1 red pepper in place of the tomatoes with sliced zucchini and peppers Using 1 head of broccoli instead of tomatoes and finishing with lemon zest, you may make a quick and easy side dish.

Air fryer baked feta pasta

Making baked feta spaghetti in the air fryer is simple. First, make sure your baking dish will fit inside your air fryer. Place the ingredients in a baking dish and place it inside the air fryer to cook for 30 minutes. Air fried for 30 minutes at 400°F, or until the tomatoes have burst and the cheese is golden brown, or until the tomatoes are soft. Combine the tomatoes, cheese, garlic, and red pepper in a large mixing bowl until everything is smooth and creamy, then pour over the cooked spaghetti.

Instant Pot baked feta pasta

The following ingredients are needed to create baked feta pasta in an Instant Pot: 1.5 cups water or stock, 2 pints cherry tomatoes, 1/3 cup olive oil, 8 ounces of feta cheese, garlic, and 9 ounces uncooked short pasta (optional). Make a 5-minute fast release after cooking on high pressure for 5 minutes, then carefully remove the cover. Set the sauté mode to high and swirl constantly, breaking up the tomatoes and feta into a creamy sauce that coats the spaghetti. Season with salt and pepper to taste, then toss in the basil and serve.

Crock Pot baked feta pasta

How to prepare slow cooker baked feta pasta: Place the tomatoes, olive oil, feta cheese, and garlic in the slow cooker and turn it on low for 8 hours. On high for 1 hour or until the tomatoes have burst and the feta is melty and creamy, remove from heat and set aside. Combine all of the ingredients to form a creamy sauce. Stir in 9 ounces dry pasta and 1.5 cups water or stock until well combined. Cook on high for 45 minutes to an hour, stirring regularly, or until the pasta is al dente, according to package directions.

Enjoy!

How to choose the best feta

Consider purchasing feta cheese produced from sheep’s milk! Feta produced from cow’s milk or goat’s milk has a crunchier texture. In order to achieve the smooth and creamy texture you desire in your feta, sheep’s milk is the best option. In addition, younger fetas are more milky and creamy, whilst older fetas are more nuanced and powerful in flavor.

Greek feta vs French feta

In the event that you do not enjoy feta but still want to try this pasta, substitute French feta for the Italian variety. Greek feta is saltier, more crumbly, and tangier than American feta, which might cause your sauce to become gritty. If you’re a lover of Greek feta, choose for a kind that has more sheep’s milk than goat’s milk. When compared to Greek feta, French feta is milder and creamier since it is manufactured only from sheep’s milk.

Bulgarian feta is extremely similar to French feta in that it is manufactured from 100 percent sheep’s milk and is not matured for as long, resulting in a cheese that is creamier and less sour.

The addition of protein to your Tiktok baked feta pasta is a simple and minimally time-consuming process that is scarcely an inconvenience. Adding any type of protein to the baking dish will crisp up and cook in the oven while the tomatoes are roasting since the pasta bakes at 400 degrees Fahrenheit for 30 minutes.

Pancetta

Add pieces of pancetta for a different flavor profile; they’ll crisp up into small nuggets of rich, porky goodness.

Chicken

Before roasting the feta and tomatoes, you can add cubed chicken to the pan, which should be fresh and uncooked. While the tomatoes are roasting, you may start on the potatoes. If you happen to have leftover chicken in the fridge, you can just toss it into the sauce while you’re adding the pasta to finish it.

Tofu

If you’re a vegetarian, cubed pressed tofu will provide an additional source of lean protein. There will be some pieces that remain intact and some that are incorporated into the sauce, giving it exceptionally creamy in texture.

Help, my baked feta pasta is too tart!

Considering that it’s winter right now, there’s no getting around the reality that the cherry tomatoes available aren’t the sweetest. Because there isn’t much sugar in this feta pasta, the sauce may either be quite tart or very sour depending on the tomatoes you choose. The simple solution is to add a little sugar, but if you don’t want to go that route, the best thing to do is to bake some thinly sliced onions or shallots in the baking dish while you’re roasting the feta and tomatoes, instead.

Tiktok pasta FAQ

If you don’t care for feta, you might use French feta, which has a milder flavor, or even a different type of cheese altogether. You may use any type of cheese for this spaghetti dish, including brie, ricotta, fresh mozzarella, and cream cheese.

Do I have to use cherry tomatoes for feta baked pasta?

What kind of pasta should I use for feta baked pasta?

Any and all kinds are welcome! The pasta I ended up using was casarecce, which is a charming “S”-shaped pasta that is formed like a shell. You may use a variety of pasta shapes, including penne, rotini, macaroni, rigatoni, and even lengthy pasta shapes such as spaghetti or fettuccine.

What kind of baking dish should I use?

To avoid overcooking the tomatoes, choose a baking dish that is not too large. This will assist to keep the tomatoes close together and submerged in the olive oil, preventing them from being overly dried out. In order for the tomatoes to be jammy and tender, they should not have been baked.

I don’t like raw garlic, does the garlic need to be raw?

Raw garlic will be gradually warmed by the residual heat from the tomatoes and feta, taking away the raw edge but yet retaining a strong garlicky taste. It is possible to avoid using raw garlic entirely by roasting the tomatoes first in a skillet with olive oil, but make sure they are well coated in oil to avoid them becoming scorched.

Baked Feta Pasta

Despite the fact that I am not a regular user of TikTok, I had heard a lot of good things about this dish and wanted to give it a try myself. However, even though I generally cook pasta with a meat sauce and serve it with feta cheese, I have to admit that this dish is much simpler to prepare. Given how simple this recipe is, I was pleasantly surprised by the finished result, which is bursting with flavors that are utterly irresistible. The sauce is salty and tangy, and it is so wonderful that it produces a true party in your mouth.

My version also adds a slight heat to it thanks to the red pepper flakes.

Ingredient Notes

  • Pasta– Almost any form of pasta would suffice for this recipe. I used mafalda pasta, which is a really lovely pasta that looked like little lasagna sheets, but you can use any type of pasta you choose, including penne, ziti, rigatoni, pasta shells, orrechiette, bow tie pasta, elbow macaroni, and so on. Fetacheese– You’ll need an 8-ounce block of feta cheese for this recipe. If you don’t have or can’t locate a block of feta, crumbled feta can work just as well
  • Just be sure to press all of the pieces together in the center of the baking dish before baking. You’ll want to seek for cherry tomatoes or grape tomatoes, and if you haven’t had roasted cherry tomatoes before, you’re in for a treat. Extra Virgin Olive Oil– The use of extra virgin olive oil will enhance the richness of this meal. It may appear to be a lot, but it is olive oil, and olive oil is beneficial for you. Seasonings include red pepper flakes, salt, and freshly ground pepper to taste. In this meal, I enjoy adding red pepper flakes for a little bit of an extra heat to the sauce, but if spicy foods are not your thing, feel free to omit this step entirely. Another thing to watch out for is the salt, as feta cheese is typically extremely salty. Garlic– For that garlicky taste, use plenty of freshly crushed garlic. Don’t bother about chopping it finely
  • The garlic will roast and mix into the sauce wonderfully. Basil– You may use as much fresh basil as you like, however I strongly recommend using fresh basil rather than dried basil in this recipe. Its taste will help to bring the sauce into harmony.

How To Make Baked Feta Pasta

  1. Make preparations by preheating the oven to 400°F. Preparing the sauce entails the following steps: Placing the feta block in a 9×13-inch casserole dish and surrounding it with the cherry tomatoes and crushed garlic will make a lovely presentation. Salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes should be sprinkled over the tomatoes and cheese after they have been drizzled with olive oil and seasoned. Place the casserole dish in the oven and bake for 30 minutes, or until the tomatoes have burst and the feta cheese has melted, whichever comes first. Continue to cook for an additional 10 to 15 minutes, or until the feta cheese is golden brown, after increasing the heat to 450 degrees Fahrenheit. Prepare the spaghetti as follows: Cook a big pot of salted water over a high heat until it comes to a rolling boil. Cook the pasta until al dente, about 13 minutes, after adding the water. After reserving 12 cup to 1 cup of pasta water, drain the pasta well. Combine all of the ingredients: Using a fork, mix the feta, tomatoes, and garlic together until well combined. Stir in the pasta and basil until the pasta is well coated in sauce in the casserole dish. If the pasta is too dry, add a couple tablespoons of pasta water at a time until the pasta is moist. Season with salt and pepper to taste, and adjust seasoning as necessary. Serve immediately while the pasta is still hot, topped with more fresh basil and freshly grated Parmesan cheese, if desired
