According to its website, the Pasta Pomodoro franchise originally opened its doors in San Francisco in 1994, eventually expanding to 12 sites by 2000, according to the San Francisco Chronicle.

Since then, eateries have closed in a variety of places, reducing the number of options to the current 15 local restaurants, which were open until Monday.

In an attempt to obtain feedback, SFGATE reached out to Pasta Pomodoro, but did not receive a response right away.
