My mission, in an effort to be less wasteful and more creative in the kitchen, was to come up with some simple and innovative ways to use up the extra marinara that I had on hand.

4.Garlic Spaghetti Sauce
Perhaps one of the easiest recipes on our list if not the easiest to make is this one. This garlic spaghetti sauce, also known as aglio olio, is a straightforward blend of olive oil, garlic, butter, basil, and parmesan cheese. It appears to be a simple dish, but once you’ve had it, you’ll want it on a daily basis. With the addition of olive oil and butter, the sauce becomes ultra-rich, while the addition of garlic imparts a wonderful strong, peppery flavor. Because of the basil’s earthy flavor, it helps to temper the richness, and the parmesan cheese gives a delicious layer of nuttiness.
bolognese sauce is a traditional pasta sauce made with ground beef in a tomato-based broth. It’s comparable to a traditional spaghetti sauce, except it includes celery and carrots for taste enhancement. When ground beef and tomato sauce are combined, there’s something truly magical that happens. This recipe also contains a small amount of wine, which enhances the taste of the sauce even further.
With any style of pasta, from penne to pappardelle to ziti, this bolognese sauce is a match made in heaven. Furthermore, because it is not cream-based, it freezes well. This means you can prepare a large quantity and freeze it, then eat it whenever you want.
6.Green Pea Pasta Sauce
Bolognese sauce is a traditional pasta sauce made with ground beef and a tomato base. A typical spaghetti sauce, with the addition of celery and carrots for taste, this dish is close to the classic. When ground beef and tomato sauce are combined, there’s something truly magical that happens! Additionally, this recipe contains a small amount of wine, which enhances the flavor of the sauce. With any style of pasta, from penne to pappardelle to ziti, this bolognese sauce is a must-have. Furthermore, because it is not made with cream, it freezes well.
7.Four Cheese Garlic White Cream Pasta Sauce
What could be better than a spaghetti sauce bursting with cheese? That would be the one with four different types of cheese in it. Four cheese garlic white cream pasta sauce — just by looking at the name, you can know this sauce is incredible. Your heart will undoubtedly melt when you taste this delicious combination of tastes involving cream, olive oil, butter, and garlic. As if things couldn’t get any better, a blend of cheddar, mozzarella, provolone, and asiago cheeses is added to the mix, resulting in a sauce that is even stronger and more delicious than it already is.
This sauce’s basis is made up of the traditional tomato, fresh herbs, and parmesan, but it’s elevated to a whole new level of deliciousness by the addition of vodka. If you believe that alcohol has little effect on pasta sauces, think again. While there is no discernible taste of vodka in this sauce, you can expect a delicious sauce with substantially richer flavor as the result of the addition of the vodka. Yes, vodka has a magical effect on tomatoes! It raises the quality of their tastes to an entirely new level.
9.Burst Cherry Tomato Sauce
Here’s another sauce with a tomato basis for you to try. It’s the ideal way to use up all of those lovely cherry tomatoes that you’ve been collecting throughout the summer. This dish could not be much easier to make, but it is also unbelievably delicious. Olive oil, basil, and garlic are used to flavor the tomatoes, which are the only ingredients used. Despite this, the end effect is out-of-this-world spectacular in every way. The best thing is that it will only take you 30 minutes to put together!
10.Pistachio Pesto Pasta Sauce
Here’s another sauce with a tomato basis for you to try out this weekend. That glut of luscious cherry tomatoes you’ve been hoarding all summer long? This recipe is the solution. Even though this dish couldn’t be much easier to prepare, it’s also extremely delicious. Olive oil, basil, and garlic are used to flavor the tomatoes, which are the only additions. In spite of this, the end effect is spectacular on a level that is beyond comprehension. It will only take you 30 minutes to prepare this dish, which is an added bonus.
11.Asiago Cheese Sauce
All you’ll need for this recipe are four ingredients and 15 minutes of your time. I mean, how cool is that? It’s a straightforward blend of milk and asiago cheese, thickened with flour and seasoned with herbs of your choosing. I prefer to season it with basil and parsley, but feel free to use your favorite herbs or seasonings. The end result is a rich and creamy sauce that has the proper blend of nuttiness from the asiago and earthiness from the spices to complement the vegetables.
It is, without a doubt, a 10/10. Not only does it go well with pasta, but it also goes well with other foods. Pour this scrumptious sauce over roasted veggies or grilled meat to make a more delightful feast out of it.
This creamy, nutty, and deliciously garlicky spaghetti spinach sauce is the perfect accompaniment to any pasta dish. That said, it’s a fantastic vegetarian sauce that even meat lovers will fall head over heels in love with. In a blender, purée baby spinach leaves and garlic with olive oil and cheese until smooth. That’s all there is to it! It’s amazing how such simple components can produce such complex tastes. It’s not only delicious as a spaghetti sauce, but it’s also fantastic as a dressing for fish dinners like baked salmon and tuna.
13.Cauliflower Alfredo Sauce
This creamy, nutty, and deliciously garlicky spaghetti spinach sauce is perfect for a weeknight meal. It’s a fantastic vegetarian sauce that even meat eaters will like and recommend. In a blender, combine baby spinach leaves, garlic, olive oil, and cheese until smooth. Yes, that is all there is to it. It’s amazing how such simple components can produce such complex tastes. It’s not only delicious as a spaghetti sauce, but it’s also fantastic as a dressing for fish dishes like baked salmon and tuna, among other things.
14.Blue Cheese Pasta Sauce
While blue cheese takes some getting used to, it is a flavor that once discovered, you will not be able to get enough of. This spaghetti sauce, which includes the pungent flavor of this moldy cheese as well as butter and parsley, is a delicious combination. Despite the fact that it only has three ingredients, it will completely blow your taste senses away. A blue cheese lover’s dream sauce, this sauce is salty, creamy, and buttery all at the same time.
15.White Pesto Sauce
The typical pesto sauce is a must-try, but have you ever tried a white pesto? This version on the original recipe incorporates walnuts, fresh oregano, garlic, lemon, olive oil, and two types of cheese into the recipe. It’s pure white (with a few grains of oregano thrown in for good measure), and it’s delicious. It may not appear to be as vivid as the original, but believe me when I say it is unbelievably tasty. This sauce is cheesy to say the least, thanks to the use of a combination of ricotta and Parmesan.
16.Kale Pasta Sauce
Kale is a superfood that you should incorporate into your diet as soon as possible. We must admit, however, that it is insufficient on its own. You can, however, convert it into a gorgeous pasta sauce with a few simple additions. This recipe calls for kale leaves, olive oil, garlic, lemon juice, and nutritional yeast, all of which are combined in a blender. This mix produces a very smooth, creamy, earthy, and savory sauce that goes well with any type of pasta and can be enjoyed by the whole family.
17.Pomarola Tomato Sauce
Pomarola tomato sauce is a fresh tomato-based pasta sauce from the Tuscan region. In order to make a genuine Italian supper, serve it over pasta mista. It is translated as “mixed pasta,” thus you will receive a variety of various pasta forms in one bowl when ordering this dish. Pasta mista was once seen as a dish for the poor since it was created from leftover pasta fragments, which were subsequently sold at a considerably lower price than fresh pasta.
This spaghetti meal, on the other hand, is everything from inexpensive! Your pasta mista will be both visually and aesthetically pleasing, thanks to the use of fragrant pomarola and pecorino cheese.
18.Roasted Red Pepper Marinara
It is possible to take the standard marinara to a whole new level of flavor with this recipe. As an alternative to tomatoes, roasted red peppers are used to create an even deeper and more robust marinara taste. This isn’t your normal marinara sauce for spaghetti, guys. Rubbed red peppers have a more vibrant and sweet flavor than tomatoes, resulting in a sauce that is far more delectable than tomatoes alone. Not only is this marinara dish exceptionally good, but it is also extremely flexible. You can use it on pasta, mozzarella sticks, chicken parmigiana, pizza, and anything else you can think of!
19.Sun Dried Tomato Pesto Sauce
The deliciousness of pesto and sun-dried tomatoes are combined in this pasta sauce, because, well, why not? Sun-dried tomatoes are a delectable delicacy. Their flavor is little sour and sweet, and they’re both soft and chewy. They’re just delicious. The combination of sun-dried tomatoes and basil results in a fantastically delicious sauce. It’s both sweet and savory, rich and creamy, and incredibly filling and fulfilling.
20.Walnut Pasta Sauce
The idea of a walnut-based sauce makes me dizzy with excitement. Even as I write this, I can already taste the deep, nutty flavor coating my tongue! Despite the fact that basil pesto is the most popular variety of pesto, this lesser-known variation is the victor in my book. It’s certainly richer, creamier, and nuttier because it’s made with crushed walnuts, parmesan, garlic, olive oil, and milk, rather than just milk. The combination is blended with bread that has been soaked in milk, which gives it a thick, pesto-like consistency when served.
21.Truffle Cream Sauce
If you’ve never had truffles before, this should serve as a reminder to do so. Yes, it is really pricey, but if you want to take your pasta gaming to the next level, it is well worth it. To make this sauce, blend cream, Parmigiano-Reggiano, butter, and chopped Italian truffles in a small saucepan. Imagine how exquisite a traditional cream sauce may be before you try it with truffles. Truffles have a strong, incredibly deep umami flavor that is hard to describe. You won’t find anything quite like this degree of flavor anywhere.
22.Pumpkin Pasta Sauce
You should consider this an invitation to try truffles if you’ve never eaten them before! No doubt about it, it is really pricey, but if you want to take your pasta game to the next level, it is well worth the expense. Italian truffles are chopped and mixed into a creamy sauce made with heavy cream and grated Parmigiano-Reggiano. If you think a conventional cream sauce is delicious on its own, just wait till you taste it with truffles! A strong, incredibly rich umami taste characterizes truffles.
23.Cream Cheese Pasta Sauce
When it comes to spaghetti sauces, cream cheese is a staple that never fails to wow. When you add garlic olive oil and parmesan to the mix, you’ll get a taste explosion that will leave you speechless.
To say this sauce is thick and creamy would be an understatement. Together with your favorite pasta, it makes for an extremely filling and substantial main meal. Because it can be prepared in less than 10 minutes, it is a great option for a weekday supper on the go.
24.Beet Pasta Sauce
Beets with pasta? What are you talking about? This is an odd sauce, to be sure, but it is quite delicious regardless. This reddish-pink sauce is definitely one to keep on hand for future reference. Can’t image what the combination of beets, ricotta, parmesan, walnuts, and lemon juice might taste like on their own? Let’s just say I’m willing to wager that it’ll become one of your new favorite things. This one-of-a-kind sauce is rich and creamy, sweet and nutty, and it’s perfect for any occasion.
Bring this to your next potluck, and your guests will ask you for the recipe without a second thought.
25.Tomato Fennel Pasta Sauce
Tossed in olive oil with balsamic vinegar, brown sugar, herbs, and spices, this dish has fennel, tomatoes, garlic, and onions. After that, they’re roasted in the oven to bring out their flavors even more, resulting in a creamy and delectable mix. The sauce that is produced by this method is chunky, but it can readily smoothed out by pureeing it if desired. In any case, it’s a vibrant and invigorating sauce that will elevate any pasta dish or meaty dinner to a new level of deliciousness.
26.Fra Diavolo Sauce
There’s no need to look any farther than this recipe if you want a little kick to your sauce. Italian food isn’t often spicy, but this dish is an exception to the rule. Fra Diavolo sauce (brother devil sauce) is a spicy tomato-based sauce that is made even spicier by the addition of chili flakes. It’s not only delicious with pasta, but it’s also fantastic with seafood. This spicy sauce may be served over a bed of penne or linguine for an unforgettable dinner! If you want to go a step further, you may top it with sautéed shrimp.
27.Garlic Butter Caper Sauce
Garlic and butter are mixed in this recipe to create a sauce that is unbelievably fragrant and delicious. Just the smell of it will make you drool with delight. Seriously, if you have the self-control to avoid consuming this sauce, I applaud you. It’s something I’ll never be able to do. This wonderful sauce, especially when served over pasta, has a special spot in my stomach, even when I’m already stuffed to the gills. The capers provide a special touch to this meal, making it even more delicious.
The briney, lemony, olive-like buds are a great addition to the sauce.
28.Eggplant and Tomato Sauce
Cooked diced eggplant in tomatoes and garlic until tender, then serve over a bed of spaghetti. Although it is a vegetarian sauce, it can hold its own against any meat-based sauce on our list. The combination of soft and meaty eggplant, umami-rich olive oil, and sweet and juicy tomatoes is both delicious and incredibly light. My favorite way to eat it is with spaghetti, but it’s also delicious with zucchini noodles.
It demonstrates unequivocally that veggies are delectable even on their own. It takes just 30 minutes to prepare this spaghetti meal, which uses only five ingredients and will leave you feeling satisfied and impressed.
29.Mascarpone and Lemon Sauce
When mascarpone and lemon come together, they create a rich yet light pasta sauce that you will never forget. You’ll want to save this recipe for later, believe me. You’ll like how this sauce is ultra-creamy while still being not too rich. You might wonder how that is feasible. It’s all about striking a balance. In this sauce, the lemon juice creates a sour and zesty contrast to the creamy mascarpone, which is a delicious combination. Fresh herbs also contribute to a good earthy balance of flavor, which is a pleasant bonus.
It takes the same amount of time to prepare as it does to boil the pasta!
Why don’t we bring this list to a close with a bang? Despite its simplicity, this pasta with artichoke sauce is rich, creamy, and tough to resist. It is the mix of artichokes, parmesan, and garlic that gives this dish its distinct flavor that is very exceptional. It’s impossible to describe how good this sauce is without mentioning olive oil, lemon, salt, and pepper. Another advantage is that you may customize the recipe to your preferences by varying the components. Do you want it to be extra garlicky?
Do you like a nuttier flavor?
Feel free to customize it to your liking.

Easy Pasta Sauce Recipe
Pasta Sauce that is simple to make. It’s so simple to create your own tomato sauce that you’ll (probably) never go back to buying the canned stuff again. It goes well with spaghetti, grilled sausages, polenta, and many other dishes. I was born in Italy and raised in the United States. To save you the trouble of learning about my upbringing, let me just tell you that my mother often prepared her own tomato sauce. However, I’ll tell you what I really think: During my upbringing, I never ate sauce from a jar purchased from a store.
- It used to be that my mother would sneer during those Ragu advertisements when they shouted, “It’s in there!” as if the commercial had somehow hurt her personally.
- It took hours to cook and, believe me when I say, it was the greatest sauce most people had ever tasted before.
- The sauce that I’m going to share with you today is not my mother’s.
- How excellent is it, exactly?
- It’s so wonderful that even my mother enjoys it.
- All you need is a few ingredients and a little amount of time to make this dish.
Crushed tomatoes are used in this dish. This is quite important for this sauce. Although diced tomatoes can be used, the consistency of the sauce will not be the same as it would be with whole tomatoes. Tomatoes are often a little thicker or thinner depending on the brand and, in certain cases, depending on the season.
Add 1/4 cup of water to the sauce to get it going. If your sauce is too thick, thin it up with a bit extra water. Cook’s Tip: As the sauce cooks, it will thicken as it cooks. It is preferable to start with a thinner sauce than you want the completed sauce to be while making the sauce.
Onions and Garlic
The flavor of the sauce is greatly enhanced by the addition of onions and garlic. Make use of one medium onion and three to five garlic cloves for this recipe. Yes. Yes, you read that correctly. Three to five cloves are recommended. What’s the deal with the range? If the cloves are little, you can use more of them. This results in a spaghetti sauce that is a little lumpy. The sliced onions are mostly responsible for the consistency. I cut them up in a harsh manner. If you want a sauce that is velvety smooth, you have three options:
- When it comes to taste, onions and garlic are essential. Add three to five garlic cloves to one medium onion and stir well. Yes. That’s correct, you read correctly. Cloves ranging from three to five in number For what reason did you choose a range of prices? If the cloves are small, you can use more of them in your recipe. This results in a pasta sauce that is a little bit chunky. The onions, which provide the majority of the consistency, are responsible for the texture. They’re hacked to pieces. It’s possible to make three different types of silky smooth sauce.
Adding a pat of butter to my sauce is something I didn’t start doing until recently, but my, what a difference it has made. It takes only a small piece of butter to give the sauce a roundness that you’ll enjoy.
I’m aware of the situation. I’m aware of the situation. All of the fashionable culinary snobs claim that dried herbs have no taste and are thus unnecessary. Do you understand what I’m saying? ‘ Eff them all. Seriously. Purchase some high-quality dried basil and you’ll be fine. Is dried produce the same as fresh produce? Nope! However, it will enhance the flavor. It is simple to determine whether or not the dried basil you are using is fresh by smelling it. Despite the fact that you are not rubbing it between your fingers, you should be able to sense a fresh basil scent.
It simply takes 10 minutes to cook this sauce on the stovetop. Seriously. Cook it for a longer period of time, up to one hour, for a more intense taste. The sauce thickens as it cooks longer, so be sure to cook it thoroughly. Stir it occasionally, and add more water if necessary to achieve the desired consistency.
Salt, Pepper, and Other Good Flavors
Consider these items to be a starting point for your recipe. You might wish to season your dish with a bit extra salt or a sprinkle of more red pepper flakes from time to time. Sometimes you might want to add some additional herbs, such as oregano, or freshly grated parmesan at the end of the cooking process, but that’s just me. With this sauce, you can accomplish your goal. It’s yours to keep. Have a good time with it!

- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 medium onion finely diced
- 3-5 cloves garlic minced or put through a garlic press
- 2 tablespoons dried basil
- Pinch red pepper flakes (about 1/4 teaspoon)
- 1/2 teaspoon Kosher salt
- 1/2 teaspoon granulated sugar
- 1 pat butter (about 2 teaspoons)
- 128 ounce can crushed tomatoes
- 1/4 cup water
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- The olive oil should be heated until it shimmers on a high heat setting. Cook the onions, turning regularly, for approximately three minutes, or until they are tender and translucent. - Reduce the heat and let the sauce to simmer for 10 minutes or up to one hour. If you want to simmer the sauce for an extended period of time, mix it occasionally and add extra water as needed to keep the sauce at the proper consistency.
Creamy Garlic Butter Pasta Recipe
Comfort food is something I crave almost constantly. In spite of the fact that I enjoy eating veggies and other nutritious foods, I find myself craving comfort foods like beancheese quesadilla, mashed potatoes, burgers, and pasta on a regular basis. Most of the time, mashed potatoes and burgers are too time-consuming (particularly when I’m in a hurry and just want some comfort food). If I find myself without the essential components (tortillas, beans, cheese) to create a beancheese quesadilla for some bizarre reason, I will turn to pasta.
- Alternatively, if I’m in Asia and haven’t yet discovered a decent source of refried beans and cheddar, I’ll make PASTA!
- Garlic bread may be found on the menus of nearly every mid-level restaurant in Vietnam, as well as in the other nations we’ve visited thus far.
- As a result, when I created this pasta, I wanted it to have a garlicky flavor!
- This thing isn’t going to play around!
- To begin, heat the butter in a small saucepan and add the garlic.
- After that, BLEND IT UP!
- Blend the butter and garlic in a blender until smooth, then return it to the pan to produce a short roux before adding the milk or cream to complete the sauce, stirring constantly.
- Did I mention that you must be a fan of garlic?
Because I’m on such a garlic kick right now, I’d appreciate it if you could tell me about your fave garlic meals. Alternatively, what about comfort foods in general? Obviously, I can’t gorge myself on creamy garlic butter pasta every day (or can I? ), so please share your best suggestions! Print
