Easy Parmesan Buttered Noodles

Easiest Buttered Noodles

We haven’t quite reached the halfway point of 2014, so I believe I can sneak in one more salute to 2013, right? 2013 was an excellent year, in fact, it was a fantastic year. As a result of this teeny-tiny blog of mine, I was presented with several incredible chances and new contacts that I was able to take advantage of. Sing that three times quickly to the Axl Rose song Sweet Child O’ Mine and you’ll get a sense of my energy. Despite the fact that I’ve already proclaimed my word for 2014, with 365 days yet to go, there’s definitely room for another.

  1. To that end, let me add another tidbit to the list: simplify.
  2. Is my schedule too hectic for my family and friends?
  3. Due to the fact that my normal response to those who inquired, “How are you doing?” was some variation of, “Things are okay, I’m just extremely busy / I was up late last night doing things / Sorry I’m not going to make it, I have to get this done,” I decided to change my response.
  4. Maybe I’ve played the martyr a few too many times in my life.
  5. As a result, I’ve decided to include the word Simplify in my list of words for 2014.
  6. Reduce complexity and stop making things appear to be so difficult.
  7. All I have to do now is learn to listen.
  8. After all, as my mother, who is also a pre-school teacher, puts it, “I’ve put on my listening ears, and I’m ready.” So why not start with something simple like a meal in the kitchen?
  9. However, often the most straightforward solutions are the most fulfilling.
  10. Simple noodles, butter, salt, and pepper, and creamy parmesan cheese, finished with a dusting of parsley, are all you need for this dish.
  11. It’s much more convenient this way.

What’s Needed for Buttered Noodles?

To create these simple Parmesan cheese noodles, all you need is the following ingredients:

  • Ingredients: Fettuccine noodles, butter, Parmesan cheese, Kosher salt & pepper, fresh parsley

How to Make Buttered Noodles

Simply boil the noodles until they are al dente (the precise duration will be specified on the package), then drain them while reserving 1/2 cup of the pasta water.

Melt the butter in the pot while it’s still hot. In a large bowl, combine the noodles, then add the grated Parmesan and a little pasta water to soften things up. Before serving, season with salt and pepper to taste.

Can I Use Another Type of Pasta?

Yes, any long, thin spaghetti will suffice for this Parmesan pasta dish, regardless of the brand.

Tips for Making Buttered Noodles

Being that this is such a straightforward noodle dish, it’s critical that you utilize the highest-quality components possible. Purchase a block of Parmesan and shred it yourself, or purchase a high-quality shredded Parmesan from a reputable retailer. Keep the powdery material in the shaker can to a minimum. Noodles should be cooked until al dente; else, you’ll end up with a mushy mess on your hands. Finally, before you add the noodles, be sure you generously season the pasta water with salt. You’ll want some taste in the noodles themselves as well!

Pasta Recipes: Linguine with Lemon

Preparation time: 5 minutes Cooking Time: 30 minutes Time allotted: 35 minutes Serves2

  • Arugula, fresh thyme, 1 cup roasted tomatoes, 3 ounces fresh mozzarella, torn, 14 cup toasted pine nuts, 12 cup fresh basil, or dollops of pesto, 6 ounces linguine pasta, 1 1/2 cups arugula, 1 tablespoon fresh thyme, 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice, 4 very thin lemon slices, 1 tablespoon extra-virgin olive oil, minced garlic, 1 tablespoon lemon juice, 6 ounces lingu Sea salt and freshly ground black pepper are both excellent choices.
  • Prepare a small baking sheet by lining it with parchment paper and preheating the oven to 350°F
  • Place the lemon slices on a baking sheet and set aside. Drizzle with olive oil and season with salt and pepper. Roast for 15 to 20 minutes, or until they’re golden brown around the edges, depending on how large they are. Set the lemons aside after they have been finely minced. The olive oil, garlic, lemon juice, and 14 teaspoon sea salt should be mixed together in the bottom of a medium-sized (cold) saucepan. Cook the pasta according to the package guidelines, until it is al dente (firm to the bite). 14 cup of the pasta boiling water should be set aside. Toss the heated pasta into the saucepan with the conserved pasta water, the arugula, and a pinch of salt and pepper. If necessary, gently cook the dish until the arugula wilts and the pasta is heated all the way through. Toss in the herbs, tomatoes, and lemons until well combined. Add the mozzarella, pine nuts, and basil on top and mix well. Toss gently, season with salt and pepper, and serve.

Easy Parmesan Buttered Noodles

One of our favorite foods to prepare is easy buttered noodles, which are made with butter, parmesan cheese, and fresh herbs. See our tips and methods for making them the best they can be! Continue reading for our Easy Buttered Noodles Recipe or skip ahead to our suggestions for cooking them.

How to Make the Best Buttered Noodles

Noodles with butter make me very happy. They are quite simple to make and taste fantastic! Eat them as a main course or serve them as a side dish with baked salmon, a robust salad, or succulent pork chops, for example. You might be thinking to yourself as you read this: aren’t buttered noodles just cooked noodles with melted butter? It’s possible that they are, but when you swirl noodles into a combination of starchy pasta water, butter, and parmesan, they taste a million times better. Remember the fettuccine alfredo recipe that we just shared?

Here’s what we had to say: We use butter, parmesan cheese, and starchy pasta water for cream in our recipe, which results in a richer, creamier result.” When the pasta water contains starch, the butter and cheese are thickened to create a velvety smooth sauce that covers the noodles.” And it’s true for both fettuccine alfredo and this buttered pasta dish.

  • When it comes to the noodles, I choose egg noodles, which are similar to the ones we use in chicken noodle soup.
  • Spaghetti, linguini, and other curly forms of pasta are excellent for collecting sauce and drippings.
  • We’re going to use parmesan cheese.
  • If you don’t have any on hand, you may substitute it with other delicious cheeses such as sharp cheddar or Gruyere.

You might even add some creamy cheese to the spaghetti, such as goat or mascarpone cheese, to make it more creamier and richer. Take a peek at these simple pasta recipes for extra inspiration:

Easy Parmesan Buttered Noodles

Buttered noodles made with butter, parmesan cheese, and fresh herbs are quick and easy to make. Use parmesan cheese, or use other flavored cheeses such as sharp cheddar or Gruyere in place of the parmesan. Adding a small amount of goat cheese or mascarpone cheese to the sauce enhances its richness even further. This recipe yields 4 servings.

You Will Need

8 ounces egg noodles or any type of pasta of your choosing 1 cup finely grated parmesan cheese (plus extra for serving) 1 teaspoon salt 2 teaspoons of melted butter a handful of herbs, such as basil, parsley, or chives, chopped or torn Peppercorns that have been freshly ground are used for serving.

Directions

  • In a medium-sized saucepan, bring water to a boil (we use 6 to 8 cups of water). Add the noodles and 1/2 teaspoon of salt and mix well. Cook, stirring once or twice, for 2 minutes less than the recommended cooking time on the container, or until the vegetables are tender. When preparing the sauce, the pasta will be finished cooking. Toss 1 cup of the pasta boiling water into a separate bowl before draining and returning the pasta to the saucepan. Toss the noodles with the parmesan, butter, and 1/2 cup of the cooking water that was saved. Place the saucepan on a low heat setting. For one minute, mix the noodles, butter, and cheese around the pan with tongs until everything is evenly coated. Remove the pan from the heat and cover it with a lid to keep the heat in. Allow one minute to pass. Remove the lid from the saucepan and toss the noodles in the sauce a few more times. If the pasta appears to be dry, a small amount of pasta water can be added. If it appears to be too wet, don’t be concerned
  • The pasta will absorb some of the excess moisture as it cools. Season with salt and pepper to taste after stirring in the herbs. More parmesan and freshly ground black pepper should be sprinkled on top before serving.

Adam and Joanne’s Tips

  • Mince one (or more) cloves of garlic to use in the preparation of garlic butter noodles. In a small pan, saute the garlic and 2 tablespoons of butter over medium-low heat until the garlic is fragrant. Cook until the garlic is aromatic and the butter is bubbling around the edges of the pan. Substitute this garlic-flavored butter for the regular butter called for in the recipe above.
