  • 14 of a large yellow onion, diced (about 1 1/4 cup)
  • 12 teaspoon freshly cracked black pepper
  • 12 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1can (15.5 ounces) plain tomato sauce
  • Kosher salt to taste
  • 12 teaspoon honey or sugar (optional), to cut the acidity of the tomatoes if necessary
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  1. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil. Add the garlic and onion and cook, turning constantly, for approximately 3 minutes, or until the onions are transparent. Stir in the pepper, oregano, basil, and a bit of salt until everything is well-combined. Stir in the tomato sauce until everything is well-combined.
